STEP 2. After we process your sponsorship and your first payment has cleared, you, as a sponsor, will
receive the following from ANCOP USA:

Cost Of Sponsorship
Sponsoring a child from the pre-elementary to the high school levels cost only $32.00 per month or $384.00 per year.
For college, the cost is $64.00 per month or $768.00 per year. Your sponsorship will provide the child with
opportunities and services, such as:
Access to education covering tuition fee, uniforms, books, shoes, P.E. (physical education) uniforms and school
supplies
Health treatment and training that includes annual physical examinations, dental care and preventive health care
strategies
Socio-emotional development activities that include opportunities to learn basic social skills, grow emotionally
mature, become a team player and participate in group activities such as fieldtrips, excursions, art, drama and
dance
Values Formation Program that is Christian and faith based
After each school year, a sponsor will receive an Annual Progress Report (APR) sent within 3 to 4 months after the
end of the school year, which is April in the Philippines. This will update you on how your sponsorship has become
a blessing to your sponsored child. Also, every Christmas, you will receive a Christmas greeting card with a recent
picture of your sponsored child.
The Fulfillment
Nothing could be more rewarding and fulfilling than to experience transforming the life of a child living in poverty.
Here are ways you can do so with the Child Sponsorship Program:
1) Writing To Your Sponsored Child
Nothing can make sponsored children feel more special or loved than when they receive letters from their sponsors.
However, ANCOP USA also recognizes the need of sponsors for privacy and is protected from unsolicited requests for
favours; hence, ANCOP USA does not disclose mailing information of sponsors.
Sponsored children are requested to write to their sponsors at least once a year. The more letters you send, the
more wonders you bring to their self esteem! Take a few minutes to write a letter and let them know how you are
thinking of them!
Here are some letter writing tips:
Talk about your family, home, job, school and city
Send photographs or postcards
Learn about your child's hometown - This will show your child that you care and give you common topics of interest
to write about
Always use the child's name
Try to avoid mentioning things your child may never possess, such as expensive toys, new cars or homes and
luxurious holidays
2) Visiting Your Sponsored Child
In addition to writing, it is highly encouraged that sponsors visit their sponsored child. Experience first-hand the
difference you have made in the life of a child, his or her family and community. Immerse yourself in the culture and
bring home with you the message of hope to inspire more of us to take part in this miracle.

* Is there a possibility that my sponsored child will be replaced?
In as much as we want to keep the children active in the program, we feel sorry if we receive news of termination
of a child from the program. Usually, a child is taken out of the program due to the following reasons:
He/she transfers to another location not included in our project sites
Voluntary termination from the project by the family
Sponsored child not attending the values formation programs
Parents are unsupportive of the different activities of the area
Excessive absences from school or dropped from school
There are also reasons for termination where we fell happy especially if it is because of a better life being
experienced by the sponsored child's family such as: the father got a good paying job; a member of his/her family
was able to get a job abroad and has helped thefamily; or the family has improved their economic standing. If
termination is unavoidable, we will send you a letter stating the reason for the termination as well as the
profile of your new sponsored child.
Frequently Asked Questions
How were these children selected? Was it based on economic status or was there a qualifying exam?
Both prospective high school and college level students are required to go through a government administered national elementary achievement test (NEAT) or national secondary achievement test (NSAT) correspondingly, aside from school administered entrance exams. There is a set of criteria for the ANCOP children and youth sponsorship program that are followed in the selection process from the nomination to the approval, such as belonging to poor family, one scholar per family and willing to follow the program policies and guidelines.
If a household would sponsor a child and each member issues a cheque, would they be issued tax-receipts individually?
Based on our previous procedure, yes, receipts will be issued for each sponsor, regardless of amount.
Are the parents of these children members of CFC?
If the children came from ANCOP funded villages or CFC social and family ministries, they are children of CFC members.
If the children came from an affiliated groups such as the Archdiocese communities and or other partner foundation or organization, they are not necessarily members of CFC but maybe of other catholic or other faith oriented groups.
Can a member recommend a less fortunate relative livving in the Philippines?
No, we will not encourage this type of arrangement but we will encourage the donor to give the assistance directly to the relative of the donor. Implementation wise, this can be complicated specially if the target beneficiary resides in an area not covered by CFC or any of the partner organizations of CFC ANCOP.
Does this program operate also in the Visayas and Mindanao regions?
Yes, the first 3 college children that were allocated to Seattle came from Negros Oriental.
