SAN MIGUEL PROPERTIES PARTNERS WITH COUPLES FOR CHRIST/ANCOP

San Miguel Properties, Inc. a subsidiary of San Miguel Corporation, announced that the company has decided to partner with Couples for Christ in the following areas:

  • building homes for the poor
  • conducting values formation in all its housing projects that will help strengthen the relationships of the residents towards one another and develop a deeper love for God and country.
  • supporting CFC projects in community development, including building of churches, chapels, community centers and public libraries.

Willy Arcilla, on behalf of San Miguel Properties Chairman and President Ramon Ang and General Manager Atty. Karlo Marco Estavillo, made the announcement during the regular teaching assembly of CFC at the Xavier School Gymnasium on Tuesday, August 24.

Every house and lot or condominium unit sold by San Miguel Properties will automatically mean one house for the poor under its “Buy One, Give One” concept. CFC ANCOP (Answering the Cry of the Poor) will pursue the building of the houses, as part of its program of building communities that will raise the quality of life of the country’s poor.

San Miguel Properties explained that CFC was chosen as its institutional partner because CFC embodies the same faith-based core values that San Miguel Properties espouses, and has been well known to have been engaged in values formation, wholistic family renewal, and building homes for the poor.

The building of a total of one million homes for the poor is the grand vision of Mr. Ramon Ang, head of San Miguel Properties. Mr. Willy Arcilla emphasized that because the generation of resources is tied to the sale of houses and not through donation, sponsorships or fund-raising, the scheme will not be subject to “donor fatigue”.

Jose Tale, CFC Chairman, welcomed the agreement, and called it an affirmation of CFC’s thrust of proclaiming Christ, strengthening families and caring for the poor.

He asks all to pray for San Miguel Properties and this partnership with CFC for the sake of the poor, for the development of the country, and for the glory of God. At the same time, Tony Ventura, ANCOP U.S.A. President, lauded the agreement as an affirmation of God’s love for the poor by using organizations like CFC and ANCOP.
